Obverse: A right facing image of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II adorns the obverse, at the intersection of the arms of the cross. The effigy is encircled by the inscriptions "REPUBLIQUE DU CAMEROUN," the date of issue "2022" and the denomination of "2000 FRANCS CFA." This effigy of the monarch was designed by renowned British sculptor Ian Rank-Broadley in 1998. The medieval text on the arms of the cross duplicate those of the original artifact, citing Bishop Bernward as patron, along with a compilation relics that were once contained in a cavity in Christ's body.

Reverse: Christ is dramatically rendered on the reverse, mounted to the cross with his head bent forward to emphasize his martyrdom. A plaque above bears the Latin inscription "IESUS NAZARENUS REX IUDAEORUM," which translates as "Jesus the Nazarene, King of the Jews."
