Patriotic American Silver Eagle Imagery

Obverse: Lady Liberty is illustrated walking towards the sunrise on the obverse. Ms. Liberty is portrayed as a young woman enveloped in an American flag, with a bouquet of oak and laurel branches cradled in her arm. The image is borrowed from the 1916 Walking Liberty Half Dollar designed by acclaimed early 20th century sculptor Adolph A. Weinman. Inscribed "LIBERTY," "2022" and "IN GOD WE TRUST," with the initials "AW" in monogram format to credit the artist.

Reverse: An eagle with its wings raised in descending flight is depicted on the reverse, with a single branch of oak in its grip. Inscriptions include "UNITED STATES OF AMERICA," "E PLURIBUS UNUM," "1 OZ. FINE SILVER" and "ONE DOLLAR." This eagle rendition, which is the identifying characteristic of the Type-2 style, is the work of illustrator Emily Damstra, a U.S. Mint Artistic Infusion Program artist.
