Powerful Eagle Landing Design by Emily Damstra
Obverse: Adolph Weinman designed the Walking Liberty Half Dollar, form which this coin gets its obverse design. Draped in the American flag, Liberty strides confidently carrying laurel and oak branches in the early morning sun. Her name, "LIBERTY," joins the national motto, "IN GOD WE TRUST," and the date, "2022," among the obverse inscriptions. Adolph Weinman designed two of the most important coins of the 20th century, the Mercury Dime and the Walking Liberty Half Dollar. He was also a prominent sculptor whose work is still on display in various American cities.
Reverse: Emily Damstra designed and Michael Gaudiooso sculpted the reverse design. An eagle spreads its wings while preparing to land with an oak branch in its talons. The motto "E PLURIBUS UNUM" is inscribed within the rim inscriptions, which read, "UNITED STATES OF AMERICA," "ONE DOLLAR," and "1 OZ. FINE SILVER." Emily Damstra graduated from the University of Michigan with a Master of Fine Arts degree. Her designs have appeared on coins since 2017.
