Why order this PCGS certified MS70 FDI 2022 American Silver Eagle?

One of the world's favorite bullion coins got a redesign in 2021 with the first Type 2 version of the coin. Emily Damstra's "Eagle Landing" reverse design replaced John Mercanti's "Heraldic Eagle" part way through 2021. Other changes include the addition of a security feature, a reeded edge variation, and Adolph Weinman's artist mark on the obverse. See these additions for yourself on this Mint State 70 2022 Silver Eagle!

Patriotic Walking Liberty Design by Adolph Weinman

Obverse: The obverse features the famous Walking Liberty design of Adolph Weinman. The morning sun is starting to rise as Liberty, draped in the American flag, carries laurel and oak branches. Among the obverse inscriptions are the central figure's name, "LIBERTY," the national motto, "IN GOD WE TRUST," and the date, "2022." Adolph Weinman was an immigrant from Germany who played an important role in redesigning American coinage in the early 20th century. The half dollar and Mercury Dime remain his best known contributions.

Reverse: Emily Damstra's reverse design was sculpted by Michael Gaudioso. The design features an eagle carrying an oak branch as it prepares to land. "E PLURIBUS UNUM" is inscribed just inside the rim inscriptions. Those rim inscriptions note the name of the issuing country, "UNITED STATES OF AMERICA," the coin's face value, "ONE DOLLAR," and its weight, "1 OZ. FINE SILVER." Emily Damstra graduated from the University of Michigan with an M.F.A. She has been contributing numismatic designs since 2017.
