Powerful Walking Liberty Design by Adolph Weinman
Obverse: Featured on the obverse is the historic Walking Liberty design of Adolph Weinman. Taken from his half dollar, the image features Liberty, draped in the American flag, carrying branches that represent civilian and military honors. Her name, "LIBERTY," is inscribed at the top of this face, while other inscriptions on this face note the date, "2022," and national motto, "IN GOD WE TRUST." Adolph Weinman was a sculptor whose sculptures are still on display in numerous American cities. His most famous coin designs appear on the Walking Liberty Half Dollar and the Mercury Dime.
Reverse: Sculpted by Michael Gaudioso, Emily Damstra's reverse design features an eagle preparing to land. It carries an oak branch in its talons. Rim inscriptions encircling the image read, "UNITED STATES OF AMERICA," "ONE DOLLAR," and "1 OZ. FINE SILVER." Emily Damstra got her M.F.A. degree at the University of Michigan. She has contributed designs for several coins starting in 2017.
