Powerful Eagle Landing Design by Emily Damstra

Obverse: The obverse bears the patriotic Walking Liberty design of Adolph Weinman. Liberty is draped in the American flag as she carries laurel and oak branches in the early morning sun. Her name, "LIBERTY," is inscribed on this face, as are the national motto, "IN GOD WE TRUST," and the date, "2022." Adolph Weinman played a major role in the reimagination of American coinage early in the 20th century. HIs most famous works are the Walking Liberty Half Dollar and the Mercury Dime.

Reverse: The reverse features an Eagle Landing design by Emily Damstra. The image, which was sculpted by Michael Gaudioso, depicts an eagle preparing to land with its wings spread and an olive branch in its talons. Rim inscriptions read, "UNITED STATES OF AMERICA," "ONE DOLLAR," and "1 OZ. FINE SILVER," while the statutory motto "E PLURIBUS UNUM" is included just inside those inscriptions. Emily Damstra has been designing coins for the US Mint since 2017. She has a M.F.A. from the University of Michigan.
