Why purchase this specially labeled First Day of Issue 2022 American Silver Eagle bullion coin?

To mark the thirty-five year milestone of the American Silver Eagle series, the U.S. Mint launched a new design for the popular silver dollar coin in 2021. The historic obverse rendition of Lady Liberty prevails on the Type-2 style coin, while an eagle landing image has replaced the iconic heraldic eagle on the reverse

  • 2022 represents the second year of issue of the Type-2 design.
  • The coin is struck from 1 Troy oz. of .999 fine silver with a 40.60 mm diameter.
  • The coin features a clever reeded edge variation to discourage counterfeiting.
  • The silver dollar qualified for the coveted First Day of Issue attribution.
  • The perfectly graded coin includes a ModernCoinMart exclusive foil label crafted from 1 gram of .999 fine silver.
  • Only 5,000 of these special edition silver labels will be used on 2022 Silver Eagles.

Magnificent Silver Eagle Design

Obverse: Lady Liberty is portrayed gracefully strolling towards the rising while sun draped in an American flag on the obverse. Inscribed "LIBERTY," "2022," "IN GOD WE TRUST" and the "AW" monogram. This design by renowned medallic sculptor Adolph A. Weinman first appeared on the Walking Liberty Half Dollar in 1916.

Reverse: The reverse features an eagle with lifted wings grasping a branch of oak in its talons, accompanied by the inscriptions "UNITED STATES OF AMERICA," "E PLURIBUS UNUM," "1 OZ. FINE SILVER" and "ONE DOLLAR." The powerful Type-2 eagle landing graphic is the work of Emily Damstra, an award-winning nature and science illustrator.
