Why buy this Mint State 70 2022 Silver American Eagle featuring NGC's classic brown label?
Grow your coin collection with this 2022 edition of one of the most popular bullion coins in the world, the American Silver Eagle. 2022 marks the second year of issue of the Type-2 Silver Eagle design which was introduced in mid-2021, replacing the Type-1 design, and features a new reverse design by Emily Damstra. Other chances include the addition of Adolph Weinman's artist mark on the obverse and an interruption of the reeded edge, which serves as a security feature.
Powerful Walking Liberty Design by Adolph Weinman
Obverse: The obverse design comes from Adolph Weinman's Walking Liberty Half Dollar. An American flag-draped Liberty carries laurel and oak branches as the morning sun emerges from beyond the horizon. Obverse inscriptions read, "LIBERTY," "2022," and "IN GOD WE TRUST." Adolph Weinman was a German immigrant who specialized in sculpture. His most famous designs feature on the Walking Liberty Half Dollar and the Mercury Dime.
Reverse: On the reverse is an Eagle Landing design that was created by Emily Damstra and sculpted by Michael Gaudioso. America's national bird carries an oak branch in its talons as it prepares to land with its wings spread. Reverse inscriptions read, "E PLURIBUS UNUM," "UNITED STATES OF AMERICA," "ONE DOLLAR," and "1 OZ. FINE SILVER." Emily Damstra has an M.F.A. degree from the University of Michigan. She has contributed several coin designs since 2017.
