Impressive Liberty and Bald Eagle Designs

Obverse: The design on this side of the coin was originally created by Adolph A. Weinman and made its first appearance on a U.S. coin in 1916. This design is known as Walking Liberty. Lady Liberty is pictured with one arm extended as she strides forward with a bundle of oak and laurel branches. Adolph Weinman's artist initials, "AW," appear on the obverse of Type 2 Silver Eagles.

Reverse: Emily Damstra designed the recently introduced Type 2 reverse. The new design is commonly referred to as the Eagle Landing reverse design. This reverse shows a stunningly detailed bald eagle as it prepares to land with an oak branch in its talons.
