Featuring Patriotic Designs by Augustus Saint-Gaudens and Jennie Norris
Obverse: Liberty stands against a backdrop of the rays of the morning sun with her torch held high and an olive branch by her side in Augustus Saint-Gaudens's obverse design. She is joined by a miniature rendering of the Capitol Dome and fifty stars along the rim. Her name, "LIBERTY," is inscribed on this face, as is the date, "2022." Augustus Saint-Gaudens was an Irish-born sculptor who is best known for this design. He also created a community of artists known as the Cornish colony.
Reverse: Sculpted by Renata Gordon, Jennie Norris's reverse depicts a bald eagle in left-side profile. The bird is joined by the statutory mottoes "E PLURIBUS UNUM" and "IN GOD WE TRUST." Along the rim are inscriptions of the name of the issuing country, "UNITED STATES OF AMERICA," the coin's face value, "25 DOLLARS," and its weight, "1/2 OZ. FINE GOLD." Jennie Norris made her numismatic debut with this design in mid-2021. She is an award winning fine artist, as well as a graphic designer and an illustrator.
