Why add this Type 2 2021-W American 1 oz Silver Eagle to your collection?
Share in the United States Mint's celebration of the 35th anniversary of the Proof Silver Eagle with this stunning new issue. The coin is part of the Type 2 variety, which replaced the Type 1 variety in mid-2021. This new type has a different reverse design.
Featuring the Patriotic Walking Liberty Design of Adolph Weinman
Obverse: The early morning sun begins to rise as Liberty carries laurel and oak branches on the obverse. The design comes from Adolph Weinman's Walking Liberty Half Dollar. Inscriptions on the obverse include "LIBERTY," "IN GOD WE TRUST," and "2021." Adolph Weinman was a prominent sculptor in the United States in the early 20th century. His best known numismatic contributions were the Walking Liberty Half Dollar and the Mercury Dime.
Reverse: The reverse features a Landing Eagle design by Emily Damstra. The eagle prepares to land with its wings spread and an oak branch in its talons. "E PLURIBUS UNUM" is inscribed to the right, while "UNITED STATES OF AMERICA," "ONE DOLLAR," and "1 OZ. FINE SILVER" are inscribed along the rim.
