Why purchase this flawless First Releases Proof 2021-W 1 oz. Palladium Eagle coin?
2021 represents the fifth year of issue of the U.S. Mint's low mintage high relief American Palladium Eagle series. Each release features the same design, with a distinctive finish that differs from the previous year. The 2021 dated coin is struck with a standard proof finish, which was also minted on the 2018 Palladium Eagle. Obverse and reverse designs are examples of the work of early 20th century sculptor Adolph A. Weinman, whose 1916 Walking Liberty image adorns the current American Silver Eagle series.
Stunning Early 20th Century Design Revivals
Obverse: Centered on the obverse is a rendition of Lady Liberty in a winged Phrygian cap, which originally appeared on the 1916 Mercury Dime. Inscribed "LIBERTY," "IN GOD WE TRUST," "W," "2021," and the artist's initials "AW."
Reverse: The patriotic eagle image on the reverse is adapted from the 1907 American Institute of Architects (AIA) gold medal. Inscriptions include "UNITED STATES OF AMERICA," "$25" "1 OZ. PD .9995 FINE" and "E PLURIBUS UNUM."
