Exquisite Springbok Antelope Design by Coert Steynberg
Obverse: A left-side portrait of Paul Kruger that was designed by Otto Schultz graces the obverse. Kruger, who is shown with his characteristic long, thick beard, was the third President of the South African Republic. He is joined by inscriptions of the name of the issuing country in Afrikaans, "SUID-AFRIKA," and English, "SOUTH AFRICA."
Reverse: Coert Steynberg's reverse design depicts a sprinbgok antelope gracefully bounding across the plains of South Africa. The date, "2021," is split, with the first two digits to the left and last two to the right of the animal. The coin's name, "KRUGERRAND," is inscribed along the rim at the top. Inscriptions on the bottom of the rim note the coin's metal content, "FYNSILWER 1 OZ FINE SILVER," and face value, "R1."
Impeccable PF70 UC First Day of Production with Display Box, Black Core Holder, and Honey Signature Label
Numismatic Guaranty Corporation (NGC) provided its grading information on a label that was hand signed by Honey Mamabolo, the Managing Director of the South African Mint. The grading company awarded this piece its highest grade, Proof 70, which is reserved exclusively for coins that appear perfect even under 5x magnification. NGC also certified the coin Ultra Cameo (UC) and First Day of Production.
