Why purchase this Brilliant Uncirculated 2021 1 oz. Gold South African Krugerrand bullion coin?
In 1967, the South African Mint introduced the Gold Krugerrand series. The series' name is derived from blending the name of the former President of the South African Republic, Paul Kruger, with the unit of South African currency, the rand. The gold coin is non-denominational, with its value is based upon precious metal content. The coin is crafted from 22 karat gold and copper, which results in its distinctive orange hue and higher durability than a silver alloyed coin.
Stunning Time-Honored Imagery
Obverse: The likeness of Paul Kruger in a left facing pose is centered on the obverse. The portrait is encircled with the declaration of the issuing nation in both Afrikaans and English as "SUID-AFRIKA" and "SOUTH AFRICA."
Reverse: A springbok antelope is featured on the reverse, elegantly leaping over varied foliage of the South African savanna. This rendition of the national animal was first minted upon the 1948 South African five shilling coin. Inscribed "KRUGERRAND," "2021" and "FYNGOUD 1 OZ FINE GOLD."
