Why add the 2021-(S) American Silver Eagle Struck at San Francisco Mint Type 2 PCGS MS69 Emergency Issue First Strikes Struck at San Francisco Label to your collection?
This 2021-(S) American Silver Eagle Struck at San Francisco Mint Type 2 coin was graded by the experts at Professional Coin Grading Service (PCGS) at the Mint State 69 (MS69) level and was awarded the grading company's Emergency Issue pedigree due to its origins at the San Francisco Mint. To keep up with expected high customer demand during the 35th anniversary of the series and the first year of issue of the new Type-2 design in the face of pandemic-related production delays, the United States Mint authorized a production run of bullion Type-2 Silver Eagles at the San Francisco Mint to help supplement the traditional run at the West Point Mint.
Stellar Type 2 Reverse
Obverse: Liberty herself is featured on the obverse of this coin. She is depicted with the same image used on the Walking Liberty half dollar circulated in the United States from 1916 until 1947. Adolph Weinman brought this timeless and beautiful design to fruition. His artist initials, "AW" appear on this face for the first time in the history of the series.
Reverse: The iconic American Bald Eagle heroically spreads his powerful wings on the reverse of this coin just moments before coming to rest. Emily Damstra was designer of this dynamic reverse.
MS69 Collector Coin
Mint State 69 coins are solid collector coins. They have excellent surfaces with outstanding eye appeal. The Struck in San Francisco Label is a limited use collector label for coins struck at that mint facility. The distinctive label also proclaims this Silver Eagle's Emergency Issue pedigree.
