Why purchase this flawless 2021-(S) American Silver Eagle Type I bullion coin?

The U.S. Mint has announced an upcoming design change for its American Silver Eagle in 2021, effectively ending an era for the popular series. Early 2021 releases such as this example, will be the final bullion coins issued with the "Type I" design featuring 12th Chief Engraver John Mercanti's classic heraldic eagle image on the reverse. This bullion coin is also part of a special San Francisco Mint production run authorized to meet customer demand in the face of production slow-downs caused by the Covid-19 pandemic.

  • This 2021-(S) American Silver Eagle coin is one of the last bullion issues to be minted with the heraldic eagle reverse design.
  • 1,000,000 of these coins were struck during this production run.
  • The coin is struck from 1 Troy oz. of .999 fine silver, with a 40.60 mm diameter.
  • As a bullion coin without a Mint mark, the coin's San Francisco Mint origin is noted on its certification label only.
  • This coin was given the Type-1 pedigree to note that it bears the original Mercanti Heraldic Eagle reverse design.
  • The perfectly graded silver dollar coin received NGC's Emergency Production pedigree.

Elegant Patriotically Themed American Silver Eagle Imagery

Obverse: Lady Liberty is depicted on the obverse draped in an American flag, while walking towards the rising sun. Inscribed "LIBERTY," "2021" and "IN GOD WE TRUST." This timeless rendition of Liberty created by sculptor Adolph A. Weinman was first struck on the circulating U.S. half dollar coin in 1916.

Reverse: A heraldic eagle grasping arrows and an olive branch is centered on the reverse. Inscribed "UNITED STATES OF AMERICA," "1 OZ. FINE SILVER," "ONE DOLLAR" and "E PLURIBUS UNUM."

Pristine Mint State 70

This bullion issue 2021-(S) American Silver Eagle Type I coin struck at the San Francisco Mint was reviewed by the Numismatic Guaranty Corporation (NGC) and deemed to be in impeccable Mint State 70 condition.
