Obverse: The effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II is centered on the obverse, surrounded by the inscriptions “ELIZABETH II,” “NIUE ISLAND,” “5 DOLLARS” and “2021,” along with a delicate beaded border. Additional inscriptions, located near the base of the portrait, include “AG 999,” the distinctive Mint mark of the Mint of Poland, and the artist’s initials “IRB.” This likeness of the British Commonwealth’s longest reigning monarch was designed in 1998 by acclaimed British sculptor Ian Rank-Broadley.
Reverse: The face of a tiger is exquisitely rendered in Zentangle Art style on the reverse.
