The remaining field area is patterned with the four star "NEW ZEALAND MINT" logo, with "35g .999 FINE SILVER" inscribed in the bottom right corner. The portrait is credited to acclaimed British sculptor Ian Rank-Broadley.

Reverse: The reverse features an incredible reproduction of Tolkien's Middle Earth map, colorized as a worn sheet of parchment. The map segment includes locations such as The Shire, Rivendell, the Misty Mountains, Fangorn Forest and of course, the lands of Mordor.
