Why purchase this limited mintage High Relief 2021 Egyptian Calendar Colorized Antiqued Brilliant Uncirculated 2 oz. Silver coin?
This exciting antiqued silver coin from the Mint of Poland is an homage to the Egyptian Calendar. The Egyptian Calendar is one of the earliest known world calendars, created when the lunar year was discovered by scientists of the ancient empire. Like the modern calendar, the 365 day year consisted of twelve months, but with only three seasons.
Magnificent Egyptian Calendar Design
Obverse: The obverse is graced with the right facing image of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II at the center of a triangular frame. Beyond the frame, the background is adorned with vertical strips of Egyptian hieroglyphs, which are overlapped with the inscriptions "ELIZABETH II," "NIUE ISLAND," "AG 999," "2 DOLLARS" and "2021."
Reverse: The reverse features an intricate rendition of the Egyptian Calendar. A small triangular frame containing the Eye of Horus symbol appears at the center, surrounded by a radial pattern divided into twelve segments, each containing a golden-toned Egyptian figure representing a month. The segments are further separated into groups of four, to symbolize three distinct seasons of Flood, Growth and Low Water.
