Powerful Sitting Bull Design
An American buffalo, which was hunted by the Sioux, features on the obverse. The massive creature is depicted in right-side profile. Its name, "AMERICAN BUFFALO," is inscribed at the top of this face, while the inscription "INDIAN SOVEREIGN NATION," is included below.
On the reverse is a finely detailed portrait of Sitting Bull. He dons traditional clothing and wears a feathered headdress. Inscriptions of the name of his people, "OGLALA LAKOTA SIOUX NATION," joins his name, "SITTING BULL," on the top half of the rim. The coin's date, "2021," and face value, "ONE DOLLAR," are inscribed at the bottom of this face. Other rim inscriptions note the coin's purity, ".999 SILVER," and weight, "ONE TROY OUNCE."
