Why add the 2021-D Silver Morgan Dollar BU OGP to your collection?
The Morgan Silver Dollar series is one of the most beloved in American numismatics. This issue is one of six 2021 silver dollars marking the 100th Anniversary of the final Morgans to be struck and the transition to the Peace Dollar. This 2021-D Silver Morgan Dollar is available in Brilliant Uncirculated (BU) condition featuring the Original Government Packaging (OGP).
George T. Morgan's Classic Design
Obverse: The obverse features a crowned portrait of Lady Liberty. This is the same design that was issued in 1878. The U.S. Mint digitized scans of hubs, plasters and coins from their "historical assets" to insure an accurate rendering of the design.
Reverse: The reverse features a Heraldic Bald Eagle beneath the motto "In God We Trust." English immigrant and later Seventh Chief Engraver of the U.S. Mint George T. Morgan designed this iconic coin as his first assignment for the Mint.
What exactly is BU OGP anyway?
BU, or Brilliant Uncirculated refers to the condition of the coin. This condition means that the specimen is a mint state example that shows no sign of wear from circulation. These coins will exhibit strong design details, great mint luster and remarkable eye appeal. The Original Government Packaging in this case is a display box and capsule that houses the coin.
