Why make this 2021 Cayman Islands Marlin 1 oz. gold GEM Brilliant Uncirculated coin a part of your collection of precious metal treasures?
The Cayman Islands Marlin bullion series was launched in 2017. The series features a design showcasing the marlin, a popular sporting fish typically known to inhabit the tropical waters of the Atlantic Ocean, from Florida to the Caribbean.
Magnificently Detailed Marlin Design
Obverse: A right facing portrait of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II is centered on the obverse. A finely textured frame encircling the effigy contains the inscriptions "ELIZABETH II," "CAYMAN ISLANDS," "5 DOLLARS" and the date of issue "2021." This rendition of the Queen, created by acclaimed British sculptor Ian Rank-Broadley, has appeared on the coinage of the nations of the British Commonwealth since 1998.
Reverse: The reverse depicts a marlin in a graceful, acrobatic leap above the surface of the ocean, surrounded by a delicate spray of water. The creature is surrounded by a border of nautical rope which is pierced by the marlin's distinctive spear-like snout. Located above, in a circular inset, is the Royal Cypher of Queen Elizabeth II surmounted by St. Edward's Crown. The inscriptions "2021 MARLIN" and "1 OZ 9999 GOLD" curve below the image.
