Powerful Type-2 Silver Eagle Imagery

Obverse: The obverse features Lady Liberty as envisioned by sculptor Adolph A. Weinman for the 1916 Walking Liberty Half Dollar. Liberty is portrayed as a young woman draped in an American flag, strolling towards the rising sun. Inscribed "LIBERTY," "2021" and "IN GOD WE TRUST." As a tribute to Weinman, the Type-2 Silver Eagle includes the "AW" monogram below the motto, for the first time since the Silver Eagle series' introduction in 1986.

Reverse: The reverse is adorned with an eagle grasping an oak branch, with its wings raised to slow its descent. Inscribed "UNITED STATES OF AMERICA," "E PLURIBUS UNUM," "1 OZ. FINE SILVER" and "ONE DOLLAR." The design is the work of Emily Damstra, the U.S. Mint Artistic Infusion Program artist who also created 2018 Breast Cancer Awareness Commemorative Coin Program's heartfelt imagery.
