Why does this impeccably struck Australian 2021 1 oz. Silver Dragon Rectangular Proof coin belong in your collection?

The Perth Mint introduced the rectangular shaped coin series honoring the Chinese Dragon in 2018. For more than two millennia, the dragon has been considered as a symbol for strength, authority and good luck. While the Western, winged dragon is generally recognized as an emblem of evil, greed and destruction, the benevolent Chinese dragon is revered as a noble divine creature with the authority to peacefully rule the land, seas and skies.

  • This 2021 Australian Dragon Rectangular coin contains 1 Troy oz. of .9999 fine silver.
  • The coin measures 47.60 x 27.60 mm.
  • The silver dollar features a gorgeous proof finish.
  • The perfectly graded coin received the First Releases attribution.
  • The coin includes a ModernCoinMart exclusive Australian themed certification label.
  • The coin is part of a 3,888 piece limited mintage.

Exciting Design Honoring the Chinese Dragon

Obverse: The crowned image of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II created by designer Jody Clark is located on the obverse, contrasted against a pattern of radial lines in the background. Inscriptions include "ELIZABETH II," "AUSTRALIA," "1 OZ 9999 AG," "1 DOLLAR" and "2021." Mr. Clark, an award-winning sculptor of the British Royal Mint since 2012, is notably the youngest artist to be credited with a definitive coinage portrait of the monarch.

Reverse: An astoundingly detailed dragon is depicted in a coiled pose on the reverse, with the Perth Mint mark "P" inscribed in the upper right corner.

Proof 70 Excellence

This 2021 Australia 1 oz. Silver Dragon Rectangular Proof $1 Coin earned the grade of Proof 70 from the Numismatic Guaranty Corporation (NGC) for its flawless strike, pristine surfaces and tremendous eye appeal. For submission to the grading service within thirty days of its release date, the beautiful coin also earned the First Release designation. The silver dollar is presented in a sonically sealed NGC protective holder with a specially designed certification label depicting the picturesque Sydney Opera House.
