Why add this exceptionally graded 1 oz. 2021 American Gold Eagle Type-2 bullion coin to your collection of precious metals?
In 2020, the U.S. Mint announced that a design change was imminent for its popular American Gold Eagle series in 2021, after thirty-five years of consistent imagery. While the classic obverse rendition of Lady Liberty remains (with a few design enhancements), the major design change has occurred on the reverse, where the family of eagles image (Type-1) has been replaced with a close-up, solitary eagle portrait (Type-2).

- The perfectly graded $50 coin is an authenticated First Day of Issue release.
- The coin includes a designer signed certification label.
Gorgeous Type-2 Pairing of Historic Lady Liberty and the National Bird
Obverse: Lady Liberty is depicted in the obverse strolling forward with the sun rising over the Capitol Building in the background, while holding aloft an olive branch symbolizing peace and a torch representing freedom. The image is framed by fifty stars, and includes the inscriptions "LIBERTY," "2021" and the artist's "ASG" monogram. In the early 20th century this image was created for the 1907 Gold Double Eagle coin, the design of which was a collaborative effort between acclaimed sculptor Augustus Saint-Gaudens and President Theodore Roosevelt. Legacy details to the Capitol Building, stars, torch and sun rays, have been restored for the Type-2 design, based upon the original bronze cast.
Reverse: A beautifully detailed head of an eagle adorns the reverse, beneath the inscriptions "E PLURIBUS UNUM" and "IN GOD WE TRUST." The image is surrounded by the inscriptions "UNITED STATES OF AMERICA," "50 DOLLARS" and "1 OZ. FINE GOLD." The artist, Jennie Norris, is a professional graphic designer at the University of Arizona. The Type-2 Eagle Portrait is Ms. Norris' first design for the U.S. Mint as a member of the Artistic Infusion Program.
