Why add the 2021 1/2 oz Gold American Eagle T-2 $25 NGC MS70 FR Exclusive Eagle Red Banner Label to your collection?

Numismatic Guaranty Corporation (NGC) graders determined that this outstanding 2021 1/2 oz Gold American Eagle T-2 $25 coin is in the highly collectible Mint State 70 (MS70) grade. 2021 is the 35th anniversary of the American Gold Eagle series and also the first year ever that two different Gold Eagle reverse designs were issued, allowing collectors the opportunity to own two 2021 dated Gold Eagles each bearing a different design. The Type-2 reverse design debuted in mid-2021 and features an incredibly detailed portrait of a solitary American Eagle.

  • This coin was awarded the First Releases (FR) designation.
  • This example features the ModernCoinMart Exclusive Eagle Red Banner Label.
  • First struck in 1986 the Gold Eagle series remains one of the most popular gold series struck by the U.S. Mint.
  • This series is struck on .9167 fine gold planchets.
  • This release marks the Brilliant Uncirculated debut of the Type-2 Eagle reverse designed by Jennie Norris.
  • The obverse was also modified to more closely match Saint-Gaudens' original design and vision.
  • The coin contains 1/2 oz. of gold bullion.

Old and New Designs

Obverse: The "T-2" design obverse is enhanced with what the Mint is calling "legacy details" from the original design. The Capitol Building, stars, torch, sun rays have been restored to the "T-2" release. The familiar appearance of Saint-Gaudens' Liberty design remains.

Reverse: The reverse features a member of the United States Mint's Artistic Infusion Program (AIP) artist Jennie Norris' "Type 2 Eagle Portrait" reverse. This issue is the first appearance of this stunning eagle head in profile.

The Pinnacle: MS70
