The U.S. Mint will again issue clad quarters with a West Point Mint mark directly into circulation in 2020. Like the 2019 releases, mintage for each of the five America the Beautiful designs will be limited to two million coins. In addition, each of the specially struck quarters will feature an homage to the 75th Anniversary of V-Day, in the form of a "V75" privy mark. This 2020-W quarter honors Weir Farm National Historic Site in Connecticut.
Design Celebrating a National Park for Art
The reverse, depicting a lone artist creating a painting of the Weir studio, was designed by Justin Kunz and Phebe Hemphill. Inscribed "WEIR FARM," "CONNECTICUT," "2020" and "E PLURIBUS UNUM."
The obverse features John Flanagan's classic 1932 rendition of George Washington, beside the V75 Privy mark. "UNITED STATES OF AMERICA," "LIBERTY" and "QUARTER DOLLAR" are inscribed, with the coveted "W" Mint mark located beneath the motto "IN GOD WE TRUST."
Remarkable Mint State 65 with V-Day Label
This 2020-W Weir Farm National Historic Site V75 Privy mark America the Beautiful Quarter is in superb condition, graded Mint State 65 by Numismatic Guaranty Corporation (NGC). Submitted for review within thirty days of release, the coin has also been designated by NGC as First Releases. The quarter is sonically sealed in a protective holder with NGC's specially designed certification label dedicated to the 75th Anniversary of V-Day.
