Why purchase this 2020-W (Connecticut) Weir Farm National Historic Site with V75 Privy Mark?
2020 marks the 75th anniversary of the allied victory in the Second World War. To mark the occasion, the US Mint is releasing 10 million quarters with a "V75" privy mark into circulation. The 10 million pieces are divided evenly among the five 2020 America the Beautiful quarters, and all of them are being released directly into circulation. The privy mark is in the shape of the Rainbow Pool, an important part of the National World War II Memorial, which is located in Washington, DC.
Exquisite Artist Design by Justin Kunz
John Flanagan's 1932 portrait of President George Washington features at the center of the obverse. America's first President is depicted in left-side profile flanked by two inscriptions, "LIBERTY" and "IN GOD WE TRUST." Rim inscriptions note the name of the issuing country, "UNITED STATES OF AMERICA," and the face value, "QUARTER DOLLAR."
Justin Kunz designed and Phebe Hemphill sculpted the reverse design. Shown from behind, an artist wearing a smock paints outside Julian Alden Weir's studio, an important structure at Weir Farm. The image is encircled by a rim frame in which there are four inscriptions. Among those inscriptions are the name of the featured park, "WEIR FARM," and the name of the state in which it is located, "CONNECTICUT."
