Marsh - Billings - Rockefeller National Historical Park, Vermont
Reverse: The reverse honors the March - Billings - Rockefeller National Historic Park in Vermont. This area was originally owned by prominent conservationist George Perkins Marsh. It was then purchased by conservationist and fan of Mr. Marsh, Frederick H. Billings and his family. The Billings family expanded the area by purchasing several failing farms. It was under their ownership that the area was re-planted with trees. It was given to the American People by Laurence S. and Mary French Rockefeller for use as a National Park. The reverse image features a young girl planting a Norway Spruce, one of the species used in replanting the land.
Obverse: The obverse of the coin makes use of the standard John Flanagan designed effigy of George Washington.
