As a follow up to the enthusiastic response to the 2019-W clad quarter releases, the U.S. Mint has continued to issue "W" Mint marked America the Beautiful clad quarters directly into circulation in 2020. In tribute to the 75th Anniversary of the end of WWII, these specially minted quarters also feature a commemorative privy mark.
Imagery Honoring the Spirit of Conservation
Obverse: The obverse features John Flanagan's iconic portrait of George Washington, looking towards the exciting V75 privy mark. "UNITED STATES OF AMERICA," "LIBERTY," "IN GOD WE TRUST," "QUARTER DOLLAR" and West Point's "W" Mint mark are inscribed. Mr. Flanagan was a New York based sculptor who had been an assistant in the studio of 1907 Double Eagle designer Augustus Saint-Gaudens.
Reverse: The reverse design demonstrates "LAND STEWARDSHIP," as a young conservationist plants a Norway spruce seedling. The design includes the inscriptions "MARSH-BILLINGS-ROCKEFELLER," "VERMONT," "2020" and "E PLURIBUS UNUM."
