2020-W Burnished American Gold Eagles
In 2006, the United States Mint introduced a new finish to their American Eagle series to commemorate the 20th anniversary of the series. Refereed to by the Mint as a collectors "uncirculated" finish, these coins are also commonly referred to as Burnished Eagles. This finish debuted on both the Burnished Gold Eagle and Burnished Silver Eagle varieties.
While the burnished variety was not released in 2009, or 2010 due to high demand for bullion releases, the series again continued in 2011 and has been an annual release ever since.
The 2020 issue boasts a limited mintage of JUST 7,000 pieces and will notably be the final Burnished American Gold Eagle to feature the original Family of Eagles reverse design.
