Why purchase this pristine 2020-(W) American Silver Eagle bullion coin?
The American Silver Eagle has been issued annually as the official silver bullion coin of the U.S. Mint since 1986. Unlike its Gold Eagle counterpart, the Silver Eagle is minted exclusively as a 40.60 mm diameter, one dollar denomination coin containing 1 Troy oz. of .999 fine silver. Although the bullion Silver Eagle lacks a Mint mark, the origin of this 2020 dated coin has been authenticated as the West Point Mint by the Numismatic Guaranty Corporation (NGC).
Gorgeous Allegorical Imagery by Adolph A. Weinman
Lady Liberty is depicted on the obverse, as she first appeared in 1916 on the Walking Liberty Half Dollar. Liberty is portrayed as a young woman enveloped in the stars and stripes of the United States, walking towards the rising sun with a magnificent bouquet of oak and laurel branches. Inscribed "LIBERTY," "2020" and "IN GOD WE TRUST."
The reverse design by John Mercanti illustrates an eagle in a heraldic pose, clutching an olive branch and arrows. Inscribed "UNITED STATES OF AMERICA," "1 OZ. FINE SILVER," "ONE DOLLAR" and "E PLURIBUS UNUM."
