Why purchase this $1 American 2020-W West Point 1 oz Silver Eagle Proof?

Share in the Proof Silver Eagle's marking of a decade and a half with this piece from the 35th edition of the series. The first Proof ASE was issued along with the first bullion ASE in 1986. Since then, collectors around the world have flocked to the series thanks not just to its US government backing for weight and purity but also its combination of the work of a pair of numismatic legends, Adolph Weinman and John Mercanti. Struck from 1 oz of .999 fine silver, this piece bears the "W" mint mark of the West Point Mint on the reverse.

Treasured Walking Liberty Design by Adolph Weinman

Few coins in American history are as well known as Adolph Weinman's Walking Liberty half dollar. The obverse design from this series comes from that piece. Draped in the American flag and with a Phrygian cap on her head, Liberty strides to the left side of this face. The Phrygian cap identifies her as a freed slave. She carries with her powerful symbols of civilian honors, laurel branches, and military honors, oak branches. She also extends her right hand in front of her above the sun, as if greeting the new day. Her name, "LIBERTY," spreads throughout most of the rim, while the national motto, "IN GOD WE TRUST," and date, "2020," are also included on this face.

The reverse features an adaptation of the Great Seal of the United States by John Mercanti. An eagle protects a union shield while holding arrows, symbols of American willingness to defend her values, and an olive branch, a symbol of peace, in its talons. Above its head are thirteen five-pointed stars, one for each of the original states. They are arranged in a triangular formation. This design is encircled by rim inscriptions that offer essential information about the coin. They read, "UNITED STATES OF AMERICA," "1 OZ. FINE SILVER," and "ONE DOLLAR."

Flawless PF70 UC ER with West Point Gold Star Label

The experts at Numismatic Guaranty Corporation (NGC) certified that this coin is in Proof 70 condition. That means that it lacks even a single imperfection that is visible under 5x magnification. The grading company also indicated that it bears particularly deeply mirrored fields that contrast very sharply with heavily frosted devices by certifying the piece Ultra Cameo. They also awarded it Early Releases certification, thus crediting it for the fact that it was submitted within a month of its initial release from the mint. This grading information comes on a label that features a West Point Gold Star.

Don't miss your chance to own this 1 oz Silver 2020-W $1 American West Point Eagle Proof.
