Lady Liberty is featured on the obverse, with her walking figure elegantly draped in an American flag. This timeless depiction of Liberty designed by sculptor Adolph A. Weinman appeared on the circulating U.S. half dollar coin from 1916 until 1947. Inscribed "LIBERTY," "2020" and "IN GOD WE TRUST."
The reverse illustration of a heraldic eagle was designed by 12th U.S. Mint Chief Engraver John Mercanti. Inscriptions include "UNITED STATES OF AMERICA," "1 OZ. FINE SILVER," "ONE DOLLAR," "W" and "E PLURIBUS UNUM."
