2020 marks the fourth year of issue of the U.S. Mint's low mintage American Palladium Eagle series. The coin features a magnificent high relief strike and Uncirculated finish.
Exciting Early 20th Century Design Revivals
Obverse: The obverse is graced with a rendition of Lady Liberty in a winged Phrygian cap, as originally minted on the 1916 Mercury Dime. Inscribed "LIBERTY," "IN GOD WE TRUST," "W" and "2020," along with a monogram of the artist's initials "AW."
Reverse: The reverse features a replica of the patriotic eagle image from the 1907 American Institute of Architects (AIA) medal. Inscriptions include "UNITED STATES OF AMERICA," "$25" "1 OZ. Pd .9995 FINE" and "E PLURIBUS UNUM." Both designs were crafted by Adolph A. Weinman, a sculptor of the early 1900s, whose credits include the J. Sanford Saltus Award for Medallic Art, a tribute Weinman received himself from the American Numismatic Society in 1920.
Early Releases Mint State 69 with a Commemorative Weinman Label
This 2020-W 1 oz. High Relief Palladium Eagle Uncirculated Coin earned the nearly perfect grade of Mint State 69 from the Numismatic Guaranty Corporation (NGC). Submitted for review within the first thirty days of release, the coin is sealed in a NGC holder with an Early Releases certification label honoring sculptor Adolph A. Weinman.
