Why purchase this specially labeled 2020-W Burnished American Silver Eagle coin?
The U.S. Mint added the burnished (uncirculated) finish variety to its American Silver Eagle series in 2006, to mark the series' twenty year milestone.
Patriotic Silver Eagle Imagery
Obverse: Lady Liberty is portrayed on the obverse, with an American flag draped around her walking form. Inscribed "LIBERTY," "IN GOD WE TRUST" and "2020." The image reflects sculptor Adolph A. Weinman's interpretation of Liberty, which first appeared on the 1916 Walking Liberty Half Dollar. Mr. Weinman also created Liberty's portrait for the 1916 Mercury Dime, which is now the obverse of the American Palladium Eagle series.
Reverse: A heraldic eagle grasping an olive branch and arrows is centered on the reverse. The design is credited to 12th U.S. Mint Chief Engraver John Mercanti. Inscribed "UNITED STATES OF AMERICA," "1 OZ. FINE SILVER," "ONE DOLLAR," "W" and "E PLURIBUS UNUM."
