Why does this flawless 2020 South Korea Tiger 1 oz. Silver Medal belong in your collection?
This beautifully designed medallion is a product of the South Korean Mint (KOMSCO), and the third silver bullion release of the Korean Tiger series. Measuring 40 mm in diameter, the 2020 Tiger medal is struck from 1 Troy oz. of .999 fine silver.
Charming Tiger Cub with Icons of South Korea
An endearing tiger cub is depicted on the reverse, leaning on the rooftop of the Gyeongbokgung Palace, an architectural treasure constructed in 1395. The silhouette of South Korea's landmark Namsan Seoul Tower appears in the background, beside a paw print. Inscriptions include "KOREAN TIGER 2020" and "1 OZ."
The obverse contains three distinctive elements, the South Korean Taegeuk symbol, the Korean peninsula shape crafted from characters of the Korean alphabet, and a lenticular circle with an inscription that alters from "AG" to "999" when viewed from different angles. A frame surrounding the design bears the inscriptions "REPUBLIC OF KOREA" and "FINE SILVER 999," along with a tiger stripe pattern.
