Why buy this 2020 South Korea 1 oz Silver Phoenix Medal?
The phoenix is an inspirational mythological figure that is recognizable throughout the world. In both East and West, it represents rebirth. That is an important theme for the Republic of Korea, which has long been ravaged by war and foreign invaders. KOMSCO introduces this new coin celebrating the figure. It was struck from 1 oz of .999 fine silver and includes a security feature. This piece will arrive in GEM Brilliant Uncirculated condition.
Exquisite Phoenix Designs
The coin's obverse features a striking look at the phoenix as it rises from the ashes. The bird spreads its wings wide, offering an excellent view of its many feathers. The name of the coin, "KOREAN PHOENIX," is inscribed to the left. In the lower left is the security feature, which reveals the Korean characters "Bong" and "HWANG" and the holder moves the coin. "Bong Hwang" is the Korean name for the creature.
On the reverse is a motif based on the Korean presidential seal. Two phoenixes face face each other with their wings spread out. Arching over then is the name of the issuing country, "REPUBLIC OF KOREA." Below the design are the name of the mint that struck the coin, "KOMSCO," and an inscription of teh coin's weight and purity, "1 OZ FINE SILVER 999."
