Why order this San Francisco 2020-S American Silver Eagle?
This 2020-S American Silver Eagle hails from the San Francisco Mint and bears it "S" Mint mark.
Featuring Adolph Weinman's Patriotic Walking Liberty Design
Obverse: Adolph Weinman created the obverse design, which is known as Walking Liberty, for the half dollar. Liberty carries laurel branches, which represent civilian honors, and oak branches, which represent military honors, in her left hand as the morning sun rises from beyond the horizon. Her name, "LIBERTY," is inscribed on the obverse, as are the national motto, "IN GOD WE TRUST," and the date, "2020." In addition to the Walking Liberty half dollar, Adolph Weinman also designed the Mercury dime. His work beyond numismatics includes several sculptures that are on display in cities throughout the United States.
Reverse: Modeled off of the Great Seal of the United States, the reverse design is the work of John Mercanti. Thirteen stars are arranged in a triangular formation above the head of an eagle, which protects a union shield. This design is encircled by three rim inscriptions, which read, "UNITED STATES OF AMERICA," "1 OZ. FINE SILVER," and "ONE DOLLAR." John Mercanti is a legend in the numismatic world. He designed more medals and coins than anyone else in the history of the United States Mint and served as that institution's Chief Engraver for a period of time.
