Enthralling Basketball Design by Donna Weaver
Obverse: Designed by Justin Kunz, the obverse design represents the diversity and full exertion of the game of basketball. Three players, a woman and two men, one of whom is in a wheelchair, reach for a ball. Their arms are elongated, a symbol of the exertion that the game demands. "LIBERTY," "IN GOD WE TRUST," and "2020" are all inscribed on this face.
Reverse: Donna Weaver's colorized reverse design shows a basketball going through a hoop. The shape of the ball is reflected in the curvature of the coin. Rim inscriptions read, "UNITED STATES OF AMERICA," "E PLURIBUS UNUM," and "HALF DOLLAR."
