"UNITED STATES OF AMERICA," "LIBERTY," "IN GOD WE TRUST," "P" and "QUARTER DOLLAR" are inscribed. The image was crafted by New York sculptor John Flanagan for the inaugural release of the Washington Quarter in 1932.
Reverse: A majestic Regal Fritillary butterfly is depicted on the reverse, in flight above a field of the prairie's Big Bluestem and Indian grasses. Inscribed "TALLGRASS PRAIRIE," "KANSAS," "2020" and "E PLURIBUS UNUM."
