Exquisite Gilt Mice Design by Ing Ing Jong
On the obverse is a right-side portrait of Queen Elizabeth II by Jody Clark. Clark shows the monarch down to her shoulders, which are open to the holder. She faces right with her Royal Diamond Diadem sitting on her head. She traditionally wears that crown to the State Opening of Parliament in Westminster. She also dons earrings and a necklace. Her name, "ELIZABETH II," joins "AUSTRALIA" on the top half of the rim frame. Inscriptions on the bottom half read, "1 OZ 9999 AG" and "1 DOLLAR."
Two mice forage on husks of corn on Ing Ing Jong's reverse. It is the mice that are gilded in 24 karate gold! Even those who are scared of the creatures in real life won't be able to help being captivated by the adorable rodents on this piece. To the right are the Chinese character for "mouse," the English inscription of the word, and the date, "2020."
