Why purchase this impressively graded 2020-P Australian Wedge-Tailed Eagle 1 oz. Silver Dollar bullion coin?
The seventh release of the Perth Mint's series honoring the Australian Wedge-Tailed Eagle features the fifth unique design of the series created by American medal and coin sculptor and former United States Mint Chief Engraver, John Mercanti. Depicting a partial, close-up view of the magnificent bird in an aggressive prey-seeking pose, the 2020 image differs vastly from previous designs, which portrayed the eagle serenely perched, in flight, and lovingly caring for its young. The 40.60 mm diameter 2020-P Wedge-Tailed Eagle bullion coin is exquisitely struck 1 Troy oz. of .9999 fine silver. Mintage is limited to only 50,000 coins, all of which is sold out at the Mint!
Dramatic Wedge-Tailed Eagle Design
The reverse features a breathtaking rendition of a Wedge-Tailed eagle, captured mere moments before it dives towards its chosen prey, with the Mint mark "P" above. The inscriptions "AUSTRALIAN WEDGE-TAILED EAGLE" and "2020 1 OZ .9999 SILVER" curve near the coin's edge.
The profile of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II is located on the obverse, designed by Jody Clark of The Royal Mint. Inscribed "ELIZABETH II," "AUSTRALIA" and "1 DOLLAR."
Virtually Flawless Mint State 69 with Signed Flag Label
Numismatic Guaranty Corporation (NGC) judged this superbly struck 2020-P Australian Silver Wedge-Tailed Eagle bullion coin to be in nearly perfect Mint State 69 condition. The gorgeous silver dollar is presented in a sonically sealed NGC protective holder accompanied by an Australian flag style certification label adorned with the signature of John Mercanti.
