Why purchase this perfectly graded Philadelphia minted 2020 American Silver Eagle bullion coin?
As the coronavirus spread around the world with alarming speed in spring 2020, global demand for precious metals increased. The U.S. Mint opted to expand production of its bullion Silver Eagle for around two weeks in mid-April at the Philadelphia Mint to keep up with the unexpected demand. As a result, a total of 240,000 Emergency Issue Silver Eagles were struck, the second-rarest bullion mintage in the series' thirty-five year history. As a bullion coin with no Mint mark, this 2020-(P) Silver Eagle is indicated as part of the Emergency Issue mintage on its certification label only.
