Why purchase this exceptionally graded 2020-(P) American Silver Eagle bullion coin?

The U.S. Mint has annually issued the American Silver Eagle series since 1986. When precious metals were in extraordinarily high demand at the onset of the global COVID-19 pandemic, the Mint authorized a production run of the popular bullion variety silver dollar at the Philadelphia Mint. Struck for only a few weeks in April 2020, the resulting mintage of 2020-(P) Emergency Issue Silver Eagle coins is one of lowest bullion mintages in the history of the series.

  • This 2020-(P) American Silver Eagle coin is struck from 1 Troy oz. of .999 fine silver.
  • The bullion coin measures 40.60 mm in diameter.
  • The coin is authenticated as product of the Philadelphia Mint on its certification label only.
  • The silver dollar is part of an authorized production run of only 240,000 pieces.

Classic Silver Eagle Design

Obverse: Lady Liberty is portrayed on the obverse strolling towards the sunrise, while elegantly draped in an American flag. Inscribed "LIBERTY," "2020" and "IN GOD WE TRUST." This time-honored interpretation of Liberty was originally created for the 1916 Walking Liberty Half Dollar by Adolph A. Weinman, a renowned medallic sculptor of the early 20th century.

Reverse: The reverse design, which depicts a heraldic eagle beneath thirteen stars, grasping an olive branch and arrows, is recognized as the Type-1 graphic that appeared on all Silver Eagles released from 1986 until mid-2021. Inscribed "UNITED STATES OF AMERICA," "1 OZ. FINE SILVER," "ONE DOLLAR" and "E PLURIBUS UNUM." The image is the work of sculptor John Mercanti, the U.S. Mint's currently retired 12th U.S. Mint Chief Engraver.
