Why purchase this exceptionally graded 2020-(P) American Silver Eagle bullion coin?

The American Silver Eagle has been an annual product of the U.S. Mint since 1986. In April 2020, amid the global panic of the COVID-19 pandemic and the subsequent increased demand for precious metals, the U.S. Mint authorized an Emergency Production of the bullion variety of the series to be struck at the Philadelphia Mint. This resulted in the second lowest bullion mintage in the history of the series.

  • This 2020-(P) Silver Eagle contains 1 Troy oz. of .999 fine silver.
  • The bullion coin is authenticated as a product of the Philadelphia Mint on its label only.
  • The coin is one of only 240,000 coins minted.

Iconic Walking Liberty Design

Obverse: Lady Liberty is depicted on the obverse strolling towards the sunrise, while draped in an American flag. Inscribed "LIBERTY," "2020" and "IN GOD WE TRUST." This rendition of Liberty is borrowed from the 1916 Walking Liberty Half Dollar crafted by Adolph A. Weinman, an acclaimed medallic sculptor of the early 1900s.

Reverse: The reverse design by John Mercanti features a heraldic eagle grasping an olive branch and arrows. Inscribed "UNITED STATES OF AMERICA," "1 OZ. FINE SILVER," "ONE DOLLAR" and "E PLURIBUS UNUM." Mr. Mercanti is currently retired from his post as the 12th U.S. Mint Chief Engraver.

Mint State 69 with a Liberty Flag Label

The Numismatic Guaranty Corporation (NGC) deemed this 2020-(P) American Silver Eagle bullion coin to be in nearly perfect Mint State 69 condition. The silver dollar is presented in a NGC black core holder with a patriotic Liberty Flag style certification label, confirming the coin's inclusion in the limited mintage Emergency Production at the Philadelphia Mint.
