This coin earned Numismatic Guaranty Corporation's (NGC's) highest grade, Proof 70, which is reserved exclusively for coins that appear perfect under 5x magnification. It also received Ultra Cameo and First Releases certifications. The former means that the coin has heavily frosted devices and deeply mirrored fields, while the latter means that it was submitted to NGC within 30 days of its initial mint release. The grading company provided this information on a Basketball Celebration label.
