Iconic Libertad Imagery
Obverse: The obverse features the current Coat of Arms of Mexico at the center, encircled by an array of ten retired emblems used throughout the nation's history. Inscribed "ESTADOS UNIDOS MEXICANOS" (United Mexican States). All varieties of the arms include a Golden Eagle and a prickly pear cactus, the national bird and plant of Mexico.
Reverse: The graceful form of Winged Victoria standing upon the Mexican Independence Victory Column in Mexico City adorns the reverse. The image includes the peaks of the volcanoes Popocatepetl and Iztaccihuatl in the background, accompanied by the inscriptions "5 ONZAS PLATA PURA 2020 LEY .999" and the Mint's mark "Mo."
