Why purchase this first release of the Great Britain 2020 James Bond series?
In anticipation of the upcoming release of the James Bond film, "No Time to Die," The Royal Mint is issuing a 3-coin series of innovatively designed commemorative coins. The three coins placed in a row, will feature iconic elements of the James Bond character, along with the complete "007" gun logo. This first release of the series, titled "Bond, James Bond," is struck from 1/2 Troy oz. of .999 fine silver. Mintage is limited to only 15,007 proofs.
Classic Bond Style Aston Martin
Featured on the reverse is the Aston Martin DB5 driven by James Bond in the 1964 film "Goldfinger," with the signature phrase "BOND, JAMES BOND" inscribed below. The first zero of the "007" gun logo is layered over, and incorporated into, the image. The design is credited to artists Matt Dent and Christian Davies.
The obverse depicts the right facing profile of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II sculpted by Jody Clark, surrounded by the inscriptions "ELIZABETH II," "D.G. REG. F.D.," "1 POUND" and "2020."
