Why buy this ¥50 China 2020 150 g Silver Panda Proof?
The China Mint has been regaling collectors around the world with Pandas since 1982. Nearly four decades after the first Panda coin was struck, the rich tradition continues. The series bears a new reverse design with each new release. The coin was struck from 150 g of .999 fine silver. It is part of a mintage of 60,000 pieces.
Moving Baby Panda Design by Song Lina
The obverse features the Hall of Prayer for Abundant Harvests, which is located at the Temple of Heaven in the Chinese capital, Beijing. The building rises in the center. Consisting of tiered circular levels, the structure stands at the center of an elevated platform from which stairs climb down toward the holder. A rim frame with two inscriptions encircles the image. The inscriptions are "People's Republic of China," which is in Chinese characters, and the date, "2020."
Song Lina created the reverse design. A baby panda sits on the ground facing the holder. It feeds itself with one paw while grabbing bamboo leaves from a a branch above with another. In the upper right are inscriptions of the coin's weight and purity, "150 G AG .999." The coin's face value is included on the left.
Impeccable PF70 UC FR with Song Lina Signed Label
Designer Song Lina hand signed the label on which Numismatic Guaranty Corporation (NGC) provided its grading information. That information includes the company's highest grade, Proof 70, and both Ultra Cameo and First Releases certification. Proof 70 coins appear flawless under 5x magnification. Ultra Cameo indicates that a coin exhibits particularly sharp contrasts between heavily frosted devices and deeply mirrored fields, while First Releases means that a coin was submitted for grading within 30 days of its initial release from the mint.
